you’re accomplishing things, you think you’re
conveying a certain message, you may, in fact, be
conveying a very, very different message. And the
reason you’re conveying a certain message is the
structure of the newspaper. For example, think
about political isolationism back in a time where
there was not a whole hell of a lot of radio and
before there was television. Think of American
newspapers in the 1930s; at least half of them were
isolationist; at least half of them said America
should not get involved with fighting Hitler and all
